The Conrad Botzum Farmstead is the most beautiful location for weddings and receptions. Located in the scenic rolling hills of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, it is country and rustic at it's best, yet only 15 minutes from downtown Akron, Ohio and 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
We have had brides arrive at the Farmstead in a horse drawn carriage and by limosine. We have had paper plate barbeques and china and crystal stemware banquets. From twinkling Christmas lights to tiki torches to mason jars filled with marbles and votive candles, it’s been here. There have been flowing gowns and tuxedos and short dresses and blue blazers with khakis. Guests in business suits and cocktail dresses to shorts and tee-shirts. Dinners have covered the range from pulled pork (with the pig roasted right at the farmstead) and all the fixin’s to bacon wrapped filet mignon and ceasar salad. One time the corral hosts volley ball and horseshoes and the next time it has 50 torches and cocktails and h'ordeurves served under a gleaming white tent. There have been weddings in the barn, on the deck, in the corral and even in the 11 arce North Meadow. Guests have been seated on folding card table chairs, white padded wedding chairs, green plastic lawn chairs and pillow case covered bales of hay.
Our restored and preserved 1898 Bank Barn is the centerpiece of our 150 year old Farmstead. Once roamed by Indians and settlers, the Farmstead is now the epitome of a bucolic setting. The gently sloping North Meadow, surrounded by lush tree covered hills, creates the most peaceful landscape for a wonderful country wedding and reception.
We think you probably get the idea by now. Let your imagination go. Come out to The Botzum Farmstead and explore the possibilities.
The barn will easily seat 170-180 at round tables, reserving space for a catering line and space for music and dance. If the 25' x 45' covered deck is utilized the number goes up to 190-210. The entire side of the barn opens to the deck so that people on the deck don't feel excluded from what's happening in the barn. Wedding seating may be in the field or meadow, depending on the weather, on the deck, or in the barn. Many possibilities. You'll probably get a better feel for things when you visit.
You may chose your own caterer. There are no restrictions. At least none that we can think of. We only require that the caterer visit the farm at least one month before the event to meet with us and get the lay of the land.
