KATE'S EVENT CAKES & TREATS

I really wish we had a better experience with Kate and the quality of her work. Out of my entire wedding, Kate was the only vendor I had issues with and was extremely disappointed in.

During our planning, Kate was very difficult to get a hold of. She often ignored us and it was typical to email and call multiple times over the course of a couple weeks before getting a response. When we finally would hear back from Kate, it usually started with a "Thanks for your patience!" or "Sorry for the delay!" I was a fairly easy going bride, but it reached a point where I began to feel like my patience and understanding were being taken advantage of.

The day of my wedding when I should have been relaxing and spending time with my bridesmaids, I was checking in on Kate and her team setting up our ballroom. The flowers looked wilted, Kate had changed the design of our centerpieces, the flowers, and the style of our vases without giving us prior notice. Kate claimed she wasn't happy with the quality of flowers so had to make changes. The quality of the flowers she did use were so poor that I would have hate to see the condition of the ones she decided not to use.

Before our ceremony was about to start, wind had knocked over the trellis that Kate and her team set up and failed to safely secure. After verbally assuring us that she would be there throughout the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly (even requesting vendor meals for her and her husband) Kate had snuck out early and was already out of the state when we called her to fix the trellis.

In the grand scheme of things we still had a wonderful wedding. Like I said, I was an easy going bride, not someone who was going to let flowers ruin my day. But I would strongly caution every bride before giving a deposit or signing a proposal with Kate. You should get absolutely EVERYTHING in writing (which will be hard since she will ignore your emails) and prepare yourself a frustrating and disappointing experience.

I would definitely recommend against using this vendor's services.

I recently attended a wedding where the flowers were done by Kate's Event Artistry, and the quality was poor but more over the service was terrible. The Bridesmaids bouquets fell apart before the pictures were done right after the ceremony. There was a missing boutonniere. The wedding was planned for outdoors, but the rose petals were laid out too early and a short storm blew most of them away as well as knocked down the trellis they provided but failed to properly secure, which crushed some of the flowers on it. The table arrangements did not even conform to the agreed upon specifications in what was probably a violation of contract that just wasn't worth going to small claims court over, changed without any prior notice or permission from the bride or groom.

But even worse was the the professionalism of the service. The Bride and Grooms other vendors did a wonderful job, and attended to their needs well. Both the bride and groom are very laid back individuals, with a few hiccups here and there, both rolled with the punches and adapted to what was going on... you can't plan for everything, but even with a storm blowing in, they were happy and had a great experience... but Kate's Event Artistry was just a constant source of frustration and stress.

It wasn't just the quality of the service, it was the fact that the vendor was difficult to get in contact with, had poor response rates, ignored communication... and the final insult: even though they were supposed to be on site for the event to make sure things were executed smoothly, they left early and were out of State and failed to respond to any requests to come fix their mistakes on the wedding day itself. It was as if they knew how poor their service was and were afraid of being confronted with the facts let alone have to be bothered with working to improve it.

It's your wedding day, you don't need this kind of unnecessary frustration and stress from a completely unprofessional service added to what should be fantastic celebration. At the end of the day it's your money, but you would probably be better served taking it elsewhere.
