Our private ranch provides a fairytale for the Brides who have always dreamed of riding a horse to meet their prince on the Special Day. Our lush meadow nestled in a scenic valley with a natural landscape of American Bison herds grazing nearby.
The relaxing sound of a distant creek, and waterfall adds to the romantic setting of the log gazebo set amongst the tall pines.
Our Venue provides a great retreat for the wedding guests with Log Cabins, horseback riding and many miles of trails for exploring.
In this tranquil setting you feel like you are miles away from civilization, only to discover you are 5 miles away from amenities such as fine dining, hotels, and a large supermarket with and extensive bakery and wine selection in downtown Mariposa.
The ranch represents a time when life was simple and the American pioneers were a virtual tourist attraction to the rest of the world, a wilderness-bred American.
Beautiful and natural alpine meadows, creeks and waterfalls make a beautiful backdrop. Scenic, rustic and peaceful, there is no fee for our non-commercial wedding or reception site here on the ranch. Weddings are welcomed outside in a beautiful meadow or grassy bluff!
The log cabins built on the ranch have been hand-crafted and resemble the "Old West" piece by piece and board by board. For instance, the floors are 1" solid oak planks made from our sawmill, straight from the oak trees on the ranch. The 20 ft fireplace was made out of the granite rock found throughout the landscape here on the ranch. A very cozy "touch" of a time when life was much more simple and rustic! Bison Creek Ranch doesn't rent out cabins to outside guests, instead we offer an educational experience towards our youth and local tourism.
Horseback riding and mule overnight packing trips are available for you and your family during which one could learn how the early pioneer Americans once resourcefully lived and panned for gold in the creek.
"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike." - John Muir, The Yosemite, 1912
