Gunflint Lodge, a resort tucked away in the forest in northeastern Minnesota, offers romantic lakeside honeymoon cabins with king and full bath, hot tub, fireplace, steam shower and kitchen. A special honeymoon package includes accommodations, all meals including appetizers and wine delivered to your cabin before dinner, unlimited horseback riding, boat, motor, canoes, hiking trails, naturalist activities all week, and swimming.
To reach Gunflint you head north through Duluth and drive along the scenic North Shore Drive of Lake Superior to the quaint fishing village of Grand Marais. There you turn inland, driving along the Gunflint Trail keeping an eye out for moose. About an hours drive north you arrive at the lodge, nestled into the woods on the south side of Gunflint Lake, overlooking Canada to the north.
Your complete honeymoon awaits you--you can enjoy anything you wish anytime. We will even bring breakfast down to your cabin if you like. During your days at Gunflint you can pick from a variety of fun things to do--exploring on our lakes and rivers, hiking on our woods trails, horseback riding any time, picnic lunches to go, guided naturalist activities with hikes, breakfast paddles, sunset cruises, and animal searches.
Gourmet dinners in Justine's Fine Dining vary every day with a minimum of 5 delicious entrees to choose from, in addition to the lighter fare offered in the Red Paddle Bistro--it is all your choice since everything is included in the honeymoon package.
The honeymoon package is available from May 1 to Oct 31 with choices from 2 to 7 nights, including pickup at the Duluth airport if you are flying in.
