It was recently brought to my attention when talking to my sister about her wedding that people are sometimes confused about what time their wedding should be, and often think there is a cut off to wedding times. Let me start by saying there's not a set rule stating "your wedding must take place between Noon and 5pm" Also ladies and gentlemen.... the later in the evening your wedding is the more elegant and formal it is considered. My sister is a funny character, not really having much "planning experience" and thought that a late afternoon or early evening wedding would be considered very informal. Actually the most elegant and beautiful black tie weddings that I have coordinated and attended have been between 6-8pm. These are typically in the Fall or Winter and are absolutely spectacular with candles everywhere. So my advice to you....if you are planning your wedding and looking to make it a little more formal go for a evening wedding. Also you don't have to have them "on the hour", meaning if you want to plan a 3:30 wedding you can!!!! Really these days anything goes. The traditional ways are changing and it is all about the couple and what they prefer.
