Hi everyone! My name is Mary and I own Occasions, an invitation consulting service specializing in wedding invitations. I am located in Michigan and serve the entire state of Michigan. My website at www.occasionsandinvites.com also offers online ordering. In fact, as part of our celebration of the upcoming 2008 Winter Bridal Show season, we are offering a 15% discount on all wedding invitations ordered from www.occasions.cceasy.com, through February. Check us out! We want to discuss DYI projects for a minute! As a professional wedding invitation consultant, I do cringe when I hear brides indicate they want to make their own invitations. Why? Let me explain: The downside to making your own invitations: 1. Expense: You will need to purchase extra print cartridges, possibly purchase fonts if you don't have a selection loaded on your computer already, cutting fees for paper stock you have chosen, envelopes need to be purchased, purchasing extra stock in case of printing mishaps, and our most precious commodity - TIME! 2. Are you willing to spend the time needed to search for matching paper for invitations, response cards, reception cards, etc. and then locate envelopes that will fit your DYI invitations? 3. Point size and layout of verbiage is important for a great looking invitation. Do you have the experience and patience to expend on assuring your font size is appropriate for the size invitation you have chosen. 3. Are you prepared to purchase a different stock of paper if what your originally purchased cannot be printed on your home printer? Are you prepared for ink smudges if the ink does not dry quickly and redoing invitations? 4. If you decide to cut your own paper, it will need to be the exact size for each invitation. Otherwise, your efforts are futile if all components don't fit nicely into the envelopes you have had to purchase. 5. Are you willing to invest in lots of time, days perhaps, cutting, printing, punching holes, gluing etc.? Why you should choose professionaly printed invitations: 1. Customoization 2. Professional fonts and point sizes 3. Professional layout and wording 4. Ability to combine fonts and different ink colors 5. Add monograms 6. 1 to 2 day turnaround time depending on type of invitation ordered. 7. You save money in the time it takes you to work through a DYI invitation project. 8. Your invitation consultant will handle all the details necessary to place a professionally printed order. No stress, no strings, quick turn around time so you can spend time taking care of other wedding details. Your wedding day is an important event. Your invitation choice should be a reflection to others of what your wedding day is all about. Don't leave your invitations to guesswork of a DYI project. See your professional invitation consultant.
