not all videographers are created equal. it is all too easy to stop by best buy, pick up a camera, create a presence on a few free websites and then call yourself a "videographer". and believe it or not, some brides, especially those pressed by budgets, will book you. and then cry later over the poor result. let's start with audio. a true professional carries an assortment of adapters to connect his wireless transmitter to the DJ or band's sound system directly. that way, presuming he has two channels of audio, he can record "room sound" on channel two, and direct audio (perfect audio) direct from the source on channel one. later, in editing, he will have the ability to mix those two audio sources for optimization in the final video. e.g. for speeches and toats, he might want to lower the room sound and boost the direct audio from the DJ's mic. and for dancing, he might want to go 50/50. your best buy guy or uncle charlie would not even dream of it. it only takes a few minutes when you know how, have the right adapters and tools, and care enough to do your best work on every wedding.
