The average wedding today costs over $28,000 and with weddings becoming more expensive and elaborate taking out a wedding insurance policy is a smart and good buy. For a couple of hundred dollars or so you can insure your wedding and have peace of mind. Generally a policy can be purchased up to 15 days before your wedding, but not earlier than 24 months. Before you take that walk down the aisle, consider these different types of insurance:
Event Cancellation: Protects against certain types of financial losses from unpredictable situations leading up to and including your wedding day.
Liability: This protects the wedding couple from certain accidents during the wedding or reception.
Change of Heart: Reimburses expenses in the event the bride or groom cancels.
Just remember you put down deposits on everything and if there is a last minute change, in most cases, there is nothing you can do about it unless you have wedding insurance.
